Digimat-CAE/Moldflow

Digimat-CAE/Moldflow-Mid-Plane and Digimat-CAE/Moldflow-3D interfaces are used to import local fiber orientation, residual stresses and temperatures into Digimat-MF for an accurate and efficient prediction of the anisotropic, linear, non-linear and rate-dependent reinforced plastic response, as a function of:

              1. the plastic and fiber properties
              2. the fiber content and aspect ratio
            3. the local fiber orientation

Digimat-CAE/Moldflow-Mid-Plane allows the user to import in Digimat-CAE the fiber orientation data predicted by Moldflow Mid-Plane for DIGIMAT-based multi-scale FEA. In addition to this, initial stresses and/or temperature can also be imported in the DIGIMAT-based multi-scale FEA using MAP.

Digimat-CAE/Moldflow-3D allows the user to import in Digimat-CAE the fiber orientation data predicted by Moldflow 3D, for DIGIMAT-based multi-scale FEA. In addition to this, initial stresses and/or temperature can also be imported inthe DIGIMAT-base multi-scale FEA using MAP.

DIGIMAT is a powerful tool that is giving us a new insight into our composite polymers. Its ability to model thermal expansion as a function of temperature, for instance, has been instrumental in understanding some subtle mechanism of warpage of injection molded parts.
